After His Proposal Ring Reached His Sweetheart's Desk, I Left Him

On the day of our fifth anniversary, the engagement ring Samuel had custom-made was delivered to the workstation of his childhood friend, Elaine Donaldson. We had been together in secret for five years. At first it was to avoid suspicion, and later it was for the funding; he promised that once the project deal was signed, we would go public. He had once stayed up all night pulling security footage to remove a partner who had given a client license to make things hard for me, so I had always believed in him. The delivery used the default address, and the recipient was still Elaine Donaldson.
