The wife died during childbirth, and it turned out to be part of her husband's sinister plot.

I'm Jack's cherished wife. When I learned I would die on the operating table during the birth of my fourth child, I became aware of my fate. My future husband stands before me now, a vulnerable young man, showing me his injuries.

"My dad, the gambling addict, hit me again."

"Rose, why does everyone else have a happy family, but I have nothing?"

Looking at his bloody wounds, I couldn't help but laugh.

"Your dad did well; he's meting out justice!"
