Mom and Dad called in the middle of the night, crying, saying my brother was about to jump.

I raced home.

He was already up on the ledge.

"Mom, Dad, I'm sorry."

"I'm the reason you lost your retirement savings."

"I'll repay everything you did for me in the next life."

Tears streaming down his face, my brother threw himself off.

Mom cried until she went blind.

Maybe my words got through to him.

He hesitated a moment.

"Sis."

"My wife... she cheated."

"She and her lover set a trap for me."

"They're demanding three million from me!"
