Framed by My Student,An Innocent Teacher's Revenge
Chapter 1
The day the SATs ended, a female student broke down in tears and accused me of sexual harassment.
"He touched my thigh! When I said no, he threatened me, saying he’d make sure I never got into college!"
She collapsed to her knees, sobbing so hard she could barely breathe.
The crowd immediately turned on me, calling me a monster and demanding the police arrest me on the spot.
When the cops arrived, she pulled out an edited audio clip and wept:
"I was terrified he'd catch me, so I only managed to record a little bit..."
Nobody listened to a word I said. I was suspended pending an investigation and forced into an eighty-thousand-dollar settlement.
Three days later, I came back to clear out my classroom. Passing the hallway, I heard her laughing into her phone:
"Your plan worked like a charm. Just a few tears and eighty grand was in the bag."
My fists clenched so hard my knuckles went stark white. My breath caught in my throat.
The voice echoing down the hallway was painfully familiar. I could picture her sweet, innocent face even with my eyes closed.
Chloe Adams. A student in my AP English class.
Three days ago, she had dropped to her knees right in front of the school gates. She wailed her heart out, claiming I gropped her thigh during an after-school tutoring session and threatened to destroy her college prospects if she told a soul.
The entire faculty and student body had seen it.
She had sobbed until she hyperventilated, her shrill cries piercing the entire street.
"Mr. Miller touched my thigh! When I pushed him away, he swore he’d ruin my future!"
I had parted my lips to explain, to defend myself, but the way everyone looked at me had already changed.
Parents who once respected and thanked me were looking at me like I was a piece of garbage.
No one listened.
When the police pulled up, Chloe produced a doctored audio recording.
It was chopped up and fragmented, but the voice on it sounded disturbingly identical to mine.
Tears streaming down her cheeks, she told the officers, "I was so scared he’d find out... I could only secretly record a few seconds..."
What a flawless piece of evidence.
Not too long, not too short—just enough to convict me in the court of public opinion.
Once that recording was played, even the students I had taught for three years began looking at me with disgust and suspicion.
Dean Miller pulled me into an empty office, his face livid. "Arthur, you're suspended effective immediately. Cooperate with the investigation."
"Dean Miller, I swear I didn't—"
"It doesn't matter whether you did or not! The outrage is spiraling out of control. Having you on campus will only make things worse."
I was hauled into the precinct, interrogated, and fingerprinted.
The detective bluntly informed me that if the evidence held up, it would be classified as felony sexual misconduct—carrying a minimum of three years behind bars.
Sitting in that interrogation room, the buzzing fluorescent lights above felt like a swarm of hornets tearing through my brain.
Three years.
I had been teaching for twelve years. I was voted Teacher of the Year nearly every term, and my classes boasted the highest Ivy League acceptance rates in the district.
Yet, because of a fabricated audio clip, not a single person would hear me out.
The news spread like wildfire. Everyone in my life found out within hours.
People threw rocks through my classroom window.
Someone spray-painted "PERVERT" across the side of my car.
My wife looked at me with bloodshot eyes and asked, "Arthur... did you do it?"
I told her no.
She believed me, but her family didn't.
Her father called that very night, demanding she pack her bags and move back home until things were "sorted out."
She didn't leave.
Yet, the look in her eyes had shifted. It was a cocktail of heartbreak, loyalty, and a faint, lingering trace of terror.
I knew what she was afraid of.
She was terrified that the recording might be real.
She was terrified that her husband was truly capable of such a vile act.
Three days. Seventy-two hours. I felt like I was being boiled alive in hot oil.
The school board pressured me to sign a settlement, paying Chloe eighty thousand dollars in emotional damages to settle out of court and protect the school's reputation.
I refused to sign. I didn't do it, and I would never plead guilty to a crime I didn't commit.
And now, here in this quiet hallway, the truth finally laid itself bare.
Chloe’s laughter rang out like silver bells.
"Don't worry, Derek. That old bastard is finished. Once that eighty grand clears, he’s getting fired and stripped of his teaching license. He’ll never teach again as long as he lives."
Whoever was on the other end said something, and she giggled.
"His wife? I don't think they've filed for divorce yet, but it's only a matter of time. Who’d stay married to a creep like that?"
I gripped the doorknob, my nails biting into my palms.
Calm down.
I had to stay calm.
Moving silently, I slipped my phone out of my pocket and hit record.
"By the way, Derek, you cleaned up that audio properly, right? No one can tell it’s spliced, can they?"
My heart slammed against my ribs.
It was fake. Just as I thought.
Chloe continued, "Good. As long as the payout comes through, we’re heading straight to Miami. Remember that diamond necklace I wanted? It's mine!"
The moment she strolled past the doorway, I turned around, pretending to organize the books on the shelf.
"Mr.... Mr. Miller?"
