Goodbye, Toxic Husband I Shredded Your Mistress's Shirt
Chapter 4
Ethan snapped his head up, his eyes icy as he glared at me.
"You pushed her?"
I parted my lips. "I didn't. I just—"
"Stop lying!"
He cut me off, his voice terrifyingly cold.
"Chloe, when did you become so malicious?"
"You pushed her and now you won't even admit it? What did Amber ever do to you?!"
"Apologize to her. Now!"
I stood frozen, my heart turning completely cold.
I clenched my fists. "I didn't push her. She fell on purpose."
Ethan let out a harsh laugh.
"Still making excuses?"
"Chloe, you disgust me."
Disgust.
There was that word again.
So that was who I had become in his eyes.
Amber clung to his chest, crying pitifully.
"It's fine, Ethan."
"Maybe she's just jealous of me..."
Ethan held her tighter, his eyes filled with nothing but pure hatred as he looked at me.
"Apologize."
"Right now!"
Suddenly, a deep exhaustion washed over me. I didn't even want to waste my breath explaining anymore.
Our boss, Mr. Harrison, rushed in.
Seeing Ethan's furious expression, he instantly panicked.
"Chloe, what is going on here?"
Amber sniffled, her eyes red. "I'm sure Chloe didn't mean to push me."
Mr. Harrison's face darkened instantly. He lowered his voice and hissed at me:
"Chloe! Are you insane? This is Mr. Vance's lady!"
"Apologize, now!"
I stood there, shivering in my damp, cold clothes.
Legally, I was Ethan's wife.
Amber was nothing but a homewrecker.
Yet, Ethan was holding Amber in public, looking at me with absolute disgust.
After a long silence, I finally spoke in a quiet voice.
"I'm sorry."
A triumphant gleam flashed in Amber's eyes. Ethan finally looked away from me, as if looking at me for another second would make him sick.
He guided Amber out of the restroom.
Watching their retreating figures, my mind drifted back to three years ago.
The day Ethan and I got married.
On our wedding night, Ethan held me close and said, "Chloe, I will never let you suffer."
But in the end, the person who made me suffer the most was him.
By midnight, the gala finally ended.
I dragged my exhausted body out of the hotel.
Suddenly, my phone rang.
I answered it. A deep, lazy male voice echoed from the other end.
"Hello, Mrs. Vance. I received your message."
I gave a quiet "Hmm."
"Are you sure you want to make this deal with me? Once you give me the evidence of Ethan's bribery, he will be completely ruined."
I looked at the glittering city lights, my voice incredibly calm.
"I'm sure."
