My Alpha Spent $880k on His Omega, So I Rejected Him
Chapter 3
After being discharged, I took my pre-prepared departure forms and went to the Pack Assembly Hall.
But the moment I stepped inside, I noticed the strange looks everyone was giving me.
As I reached the entrance of the meeting room, I heard low but clear chuckles.
Looking toward the sound, my blood ran cold.
Ethan was leaning against his desk. Maya was in his arms, her hands wrapped around his neck, leaning up to kiss the corner of his lips. The surrounding members laughed.
"Seriously, Alpha Hart? Lily actually abandoned her parents just to run away with you?"
"Oh my god, if I raised a child that ungrateful, I’d rather strangle her at birth."
Ethan didn’t push Maya away. Instead, he wrapped his arm around her waist, looking smug.
"It’s no big deal," he said casually, raising his voice so everyone in the hall could hear. "Back then, she begged and cried to leave with me. She even threatened her parents with suicide when they disapproved. Honestly, being with her was exhausting. If I didn't feel bad about her 'devotion,' I wouldn't have wasted so many years on her."
Maya giggled and snuggled closer. "So that's how it is. She threw herself at you, yet she acts like she did you a massive favor."
The others chimed in. "Exactly. I always thought she wasn't a good match for Alpha Hart. She's always so cold. Nothing like how sweet Maya is."
The cruel words pierced my ears. I stood there, feeling utterly frozen.
It turned out the entire pack knew they had been fooling around, and they even treated me as a laughingstock.
Suppressing the bitterness in my chest, I forced a blank expression and walked in.
Since I was here, I had to finish what I came to do.
When they saw me, everyone froze. They awkwardly dispersed, pretending to be busy but stealing glances at me.
Maya quickly pulled away from Ethan, putting on an innocent, pitiful act. "Lily! You're here. You just recovered, why aren't you resting?"
Her voice was filled with concern, but her eyes held pure malice. "Please don't misunderstand. Ethan and I were just discussing next season’s patrol routes. Don't take it to heart."
Ethan pulled her back into his side. "Forget it. You don't have to explain anything to her."
I didn't want to argue with them anymore. I looked at Ethan coldly and handed him the documents. "The pack transfer files. Sign them."
As expected, Ethan didn't even read them. He stamped them right away.
I breathed a sigh of relief. As long as he stamped them, the rest would be easy.
I turned to leave, ready to cut ties with this man forever.
Ethan frowned and grabbed my wrist. "Where are you going? What kind of tantrum are you throwing now?"
I said flatly, "Back to Silvermoon."
Before leaving, of course, I had to pack my things from our house.
Hearing this, Ethan relaxed, a look of understanding in his eyes.
In his mind, I had cut ties with my family long ago. No matter how badly he treated me, I had no choice but to go back to our house and wait for him.
Believing this, he smiled. "Good girl. I'll come home to be with you once I'm done here."
