My Daughter's One-Word Prophecy: From Broke to Billionaire

Chapter 1

1,851 words

On the day of our divorce, my ex-husband pointed aggressively at me and my daughter, his face contorted with rage.

"Take your little jinx of a daughter and get the hell out of my life! As long as she’s around, the Miller family will never have a single day of peace!"

All because my daughter had pointed at his beloved sedan earlier that day and whispered one word: "Boom."

Right after he hit the road, his tire blew out. The car veered off course, crashing headfirst into the guardrail. Although he wasn't seriously hurt, the sheer terror of the crash left him completely impotent.

He was absolutely convinced that our daughter had cursed him.

Without a single word of protest, I signed the divorce papers, took my daughter, and walked away with absolutely nothing to my name.

On New Year’s Day, I took my daughter with me to a local café for a blind date.

My daughter pointed at the first man, an Ivy League elite, and whispered: "Abuse."

I politely declined him. Later, I heard he was arrested for domestic violence that left his ex-wife permanently disabled.

My daughter pointed at the second man, a crypto trust-fund playboy, and whispered: "Bust."

I turned around and walked out immediately. Within a week, he was busted in a massive drug raid.

It wasn’t until we met a rugged veteran driving a beat-up old Jeep that my daughter smiled for the very first time. She pointed at him and whispered: "Gold."

When my ex-husband's family heard I was dating a broke loser, they threw a party with firecrackers to celebrate my misery.

But what they didn't know was that Carter's tire had blown out because his cheap mother, Helen, had swapped his tires with expired, recalled ones at a shady junkyard just to "save her son some money."

And the "broke loser" my daughter had chosen for me? He was about to inherit a multi-billion-dollar empire.
