My Husband Chose an Intern, So I Bought His Company
Chapter 2
By the time Julian returned from his tropical paradise with his trophy mistress, our stock price had already tanked. The homepage scandal had triggered massive pre-market panic.
He stared at me in utter disbelief.
Then, he barked orders at his assistant to contact the tech department and take down the banner immediately.
He walked over to Chloe, who was sobbing like a wounded puppy, shielding her behind his back. His voice was cold as ice.
"Sienna, did I not warn you? Do not cross the line with this company."
Oh, he warned me. Plenty of times.
Every time I used my business connections to blacklist Chloe and run her out of the industry, he would warn me just like this.
I met his icy glare with a cold laugh.
"You'd better play dirty this time, Julian. Kick me off the board."
I lifted my chin and pointed at the NovaTech logo.
"Because otherwise, every time you hire her, I will ruin her. I won't just ruin her job; I'll make sure every headhunter in Silicon Valley knows that Miss Chloe Bennett’s best skill isn't making PPTs—it's being the boss's 'personal therapist'!"
"Let's see which tech firm dares to hire a home-wrecker who sleeps her way to the top!"
Behind him, Chloe trembled violently. Her quiet whimpers turned into dramatic, heartbroken sobs.
"Sienna! Do you have to be so vile?!" Julian roared.
"I was the one who pursued her. It has nothing to do with her. If you're mad, take it out on me!"
I froze.
I let his words sink in. Then, a laugh escaped my lips. I laughed so hard my eyes began to sting.
"Fine. On you it is!"
Before Chloe could even gasp, I lunged forward.
*SLAP!*
The slap echoed sharply through the room. I hit Julian across the face with everything I had.
His handsome face was whipped to the side. He stood frozen for a long time.
He looked completely stunned.
And why wouldn't he be?
Ever since NovaTech went public and he became the golden boy of the tech world, nobody had dared to raise a finger against him.
It took him a full minute to find his voice. His face turned livid, and his words were spat out through gritted teeth.
"It seems I need to show you what it really means to leave this marriage penniless."
I watched him whip out his phone.
He immediately called his personal lawyer and ordered him to draft a brutal asset liquidation agreement.
My voice shook, but I kept my chin high, staring him down.
"You'd better pray you can leave me with nothing!"
"Oh, don't worry."
He locked his phone, his eyes dead and cold as they swept over my face.
"You're going to get exactly what you asked for."
