My Wife and Her Lover Killed My Father, So I Poisoned Their Wedding Wine

Chapter 1

3,688 words

On the night of my father's 70th birthday gala, my wife Chloe's lover, Tyler, crashed the party.

He projected their sex tape onto the massive screen and grabbed the microphone to mock me in front of everyone:

"Ethan Miller, do yourself a favor and divorce Chloe."

"She told me sleeping with me is way better than with you. I'm the one she actually loves."

My dad's heart gave out right there. He was rushed straight to the ICU.

The last shred of dignity in my marriage was ripped away.

I became the laughingstock of the entire city.

The next day, I invited Tyler out and treated him to a live show.

In a hotel room, Chloe was sleeping with over a dozen men.

I scoffed and sneered at him:

"Looks like she's having a better time with them than with you. Guess you need to work harder, bud."

"Ethan Miller, you're a sick psycho!"

Tyler punched me square in the face, roaring at me to let Chloe go.

The two bodyguards behind me stepped forward instantly.

One pinned Tyler down.

The other handed me a tissue.

I wiped the blood off my face, raised my fist, and slammed it right into the bridge of his nose.

A loud crack echoed. His nose was broken.

Tyler screamed in agony. "Ethan! How dare you do this to me?!"

Before he could finish, my walkie-talkie buzzed.

"Mr. Miller, she's passing out."

I looked up at the monitor. Chloe had indeed fainted.

I checked my watch and let out a soft tut. "That was quick. Give her an injection."

The needle pierced Chloe's skin, and she slowly opened her eyes.

Soon, the familiar, heavy breathing filled the room from the speakers again.

Tyler's face went pale. "Ethan, you're insane! This is a crime!"

"Mr. Vance, I'm just helping my wife satisfy her physical needs," I replied with a calm smile, though my eyes were dead cold.

Tyler shivered, finally realizing how terrifying I could be.

He broke down. "But you can't do this to her! Ethan, no matter what she did, Chloe is still your wife! If you keep doing this, you're going to kill her!"

The groans from the screen continued, but they were now mixed with Chloe's painful cries for mercy.

Seeing that I remained unmoved, Tyler's tone softened.

"Ethan, it was my fault. I shouldn't have crashed your marriage. I shouldn't have humiliated you at your dad's party and ruined your reputation. But Chloe has nothing to do with this. If you want revenge, take it out on me! Please, let her go!"

I looked at Tyler and shook my head. "Mr. Vance, you really do love my wife, don't you?"

"But don't worry, I know who to blame. She's the one who cheated. I won't drag you into this."

Two hours later, the voice on the walkie-talkie told me that even the drugs weren't keeping her up anymore.

I called it off and led Tyler to the room next door.

The moment the door opened, Tyler rushed in.

He held Chloe, sobbing loudly. "Chloe, are you okay? Oh my god, what did he do to you?"

Chloe didn't even have the strength to answer. Her eyes were glazed over, and she lay on the floor like a heap of trash.

I walked over. "Mr. Vance, I'm still right here. Isn't it a bit inappropriate to be so intimate with my wife?"

Chloe finally looked up, her gaze filled with murderous hatred. "Ethan Miller, you're a monster."

"Let's get a divorce."

Chloe had had plenty of lovers before.

Quite a few had dared to flaunt it in my face.

And every single time they did, I made sure Chloe paid the price tenfold.

But this was the very first time she asked for a divorce.

"No way." I looked Tyler up and down. "Chloe, don't forget. I gave you a chance five years ago. You refused to divorce me back then, and you even gave my dad a heart attack. Now you want out so you can ride off into the sunset with someone else? Ha, keep dreaming!"
