Chapter 3

Over the next few days, Audrey couldn't stop giggling at her phone.

This morning, she suddenly gave me a smug, meaningful look before turning to our parents at the breakfast table.

"Mom, Dad, I'm bringing my boyfriend over to meet you today."

"I'm marrying into the elite class."

My parents stared at her, their eyes wide with shock. They quickly asked if she was serious.

Audrey raised her chin proudly. "Of course I am. And do you know who he is?"

She paused for dramatic effect, making sure we were all looking at her, before letting out a slow, proud breath.

"He's the heir to a massive billionaire empire."

"I have a date with him today. I’ll bring him by so you can see how amazing he is."

I heard my parents gasp in disbelief.

Audrey walked over to me, leaning down to whisper in my ear.

"Elena, I'm in a great mood today, so I've prepared a little gift for you too."

I looked at her calmly. The malice and calculation in her eyes were practically dripping.
