Chapter 2

After I finished doing that, I quickly checked the other places.

After making sure nothing had been missed, I sent my location to Sophie.

In less than half an hour, she rushed to my house in a whirlwind.

The moment she saw my home, her eyes lit up, and her gaze kept darting toward my bedroom.

“Chloe, where’s your bedroom? My period suddenly came, so can I change clothes here?”

I took in her little movements and pointed toward the bedroom.

She immediately went in with her bag, and soon came out after changing clothes.

“I can’t take it anymore, Chloe. My stomach hurts so badly. I think I should go home!”

“Okay!”

I coldly ignored the little movement of her clutching her bag and saw her out.

But not long after she left my house, Sophie’s call came through on my phone.

“Chloe, can you come to the hospital? I don’t have any family around me. I only have you.”

“Oh, what happened to you? I’m with my boyfriend right now, so I can’t get away.”

I deliberately mentioned my boyfriend and successfully heard a trace of hatred enter Sophie’s voice.

“Come here right now! If you don’t come, our friendship is over!”

After saying that, she quickly hung up.

I slowly got up from my boyfriend’s arms as well, had a meal, and only then headed to the hospital.

After all, no one knew better than me what Sophie had done.

It seemed she was ruthless enough, since she actually dared to put the hot sauce inside.

As soon as I entered, Sophie grabbed the cup on the table and threw it at me, but I dodged it lightly.

“Why didn’t you wait until I was dead before coming? What use do I have for a friend like you?”

“Then I’ll leave.”

I did not hesitate and turned around to leave right away.

Almost instantly, Sophie’s tone softened. “Come back. I still need you…”

The doctor also rushed over, pulling me aside and saying that Sophie had been in so much pain that she was brought to the hospital, but for some reason, she refused to clean herself out.

I smiled and knowingly asked, “What thing?”

“There’s nothing. I just accidentally… It’s nothing serious. Help me pay the medical bill and then leave.”

“She stuffed hot sauce inside herself, and even after getting painkillers, she still refuses to clean it out. I really don’t know what she’s thinking!”

Before the doctor could finish speaking, Sophie suddenly sat up and pointed at his nose, cursing.

“What do you people know? I’m doing this all for my future!”

“I’m telling you, if I get pregnant, all of you will think I’m lucky!”

After she finished speaking, she ignored all attempts to stop her and limped out of bed.

There was no helping it, since she insisted on being discharged, so her bill had to be paid first.

But Sophie had no money, and with both hands spread, she looked at me.

In my last life, I would have obediently paid after seeing that, but this life was different.

I pretended to make a phone call and walked out, leaving her where she was.

“You pay first, and I’ll drive over to pick you up.”

After saying that, I left without looking back.

I left her alone there, raging uselessly.

“Chloe, come back right now! I don’t have any money on me!”
