Stealing My Dying Daughter’s Kidney For His Secret Lover
Chapter 1
After waiting for over a year, my daughter finally got a matching kidney.
Just as they were wheeling her into the operating room, my husband secretly gave her kidney away to his first love's son.
I called him, furious.
He acted like I was just being hysterical.
"Lily is a girl. She can wait," he said coldly.
"Tyler is a boy. How is he supposed to grow up to be a real man without a kidney?"
"Liam, that kidney is—"
Before I could finish, he cut me off.
"Stop making a scene. Tyler's surgery is about to start."
Then he hung up.
I stared at my phone, completely numb, until the nurse gently tapped my arm.
"Mrs. Miller, please lie back down. We're about to administer the anesthesia."
I sat up and swung my legs off the table.
"Cancel it. I'm not donating my kidney anymore."
Looking at the blank screen of my phone, I ripped the IV needle right out of my arm.
The nurse rushed over to stop me. "Wait, Mrs. Miller! The anesthesia—"
"I said I'm not donating."
The hospital heating was blasting, but I felt a chill deep in my bones.
Only one emotion was left inside me: pure, burning hatred.
He had actually sacrificed his own wife and daughter for an outsider.
Lily’s transplant had been scheduled a week ago.
Tyler's surgery couldn't have been arranged at the last minute today.
Which meant Liam had planned this days in advance—giving Lily's kidney to Tyler.
How noble of him! Trading his own daughter's chance at life to save another woman's son!
He knew I would never agree, so he went behind my back.
Signing the consent forms as Lily's father while I was being prepped, swapping the recipient's name, and then just informing me when it was already done.
If I hadn't been the living donor lying on this table, I would have had to watch helplessly as he stole my daughter's life away.
To him, neither Lily nor I were worth a single hair on Tyler's head.
Without even changing out of my hospital gown, I marched straight to the doctor's office and initiated an emergency transfer for Lily, moving her from Children's Hospital to St. Jude's Nephrology Center.
My hand was shaking so badly that the pen tore through the paper. I ruined three forms before I managed to sign it.
Once that was done, I dialed Liam's number.
It rang for a long time before he finally picked up.
In the background, I heard Chloe's soft, tearful voice: "Liam, what do we do now? Why did the donor suddenly change their mind?"
He was probably still standing outside Tyler's OR.
"What do you want?!" Liam barked, clearly frustrated that the guaranteed kidney had suddenly vanished into thin air.
"Liam. I want a divorce."
