Traded for Her Bone Marrow? Too Bad My Adoptive Parents Are Billionaires!
Chapter 2
Ashley looked incredibly pleased with herself. She crossed her arms, looking down her nose at me with utter contempt.
"Did you hear him, you broke loser?"
"Now that you know who I am, you’d better get on your knees and scrub your filthy blood off my seat."
She sneered, "You trashy working-class people have blood that smells like garbage. It’s disgusting."
My crushed finger was throbbing with excruciating pain. Looking at her arrogant face, I actually let out a dry laugh.
I was the biological daughter of Arthur Vance—the wealthiest man in the city. Just a month ago, he and his wife had literally begged on their knees to bring me back to the Vance family.
How did I suddenly become a "trashy, broke loser" in her mouth?
But the pain in my finger was making my vision go dark. I didn't have the energy to argue with her right now.
I tried to keep my voice level and said,
"Miss Vance, can we please just get to the hospital first? I will pay for the detailing of this seat. I don't care how much it costs."
Besides, the seat was already covered in stains. My single drop of blood was barely noticeable.
"This is a company car. Workers use it every day to commute. It was never clean to begin with."
"If your OCD is really that severe, maybe you should drive your own luxury car next time."
Before I could finish, Lily, the young worker who had accompanied me, frantically tugged at my sleeve from behind. She was looking at Ashley with pure terror.
Instead of showing any guilt, Ashley’s expression became even more malicious.
She eyed me up and down and scoffed,
"No wonder you have such a big mouth. You really don't know who you're messing with, do you? Even the shift supervisor who accidentally spilled a drop of coffee on my shoes had to get down on his knees to wipe it clean and beg for my forgiveness."
She enunciated every single word: "Do you honestly think you’re in any position to lecture me?"
"If you're so tough, get out of the car right now and walk to the hospital yourself."
Her words suddenly reminded me of something. Earlier today on the factory floor, Lily had only splashed a few drops of water on the counter while washing her hands.
Ashley had literally dumped a bucket of ice water directly over Lily's head in front of everyone.
She had screamed that Lily was "polluting her working environment" and demanded she be fired immediately.
In this factory, Ashley was treated like a god. She could do whatever she wanted.
Silence fell over the car. No one dared to speak.
Just then, someone tapped heavily on the car window. It was Mr. Miller, the factory manager.
He asked sternly, "Company policy says no parking here. What are you guys doing?"
After listening to the driver's explanation, Mr. Miller didn't even care about my bleeding finger. He just gave me an annoyed glance.
He pointed a finger at me and lectured,
"Is a tiny finger injury your excuse for violating company parking policies?"
"Miss Vance has a severe medical condition regarding cleanliness, and she is in a rush to attend an elite gala. Can't you show some basic understanding? Who even hired someone as selfish as you?"
He threw his hands up, pretending to be a mediator.
"Just get down, clean the blood off the seat, apologize to Miss Vance, and we’ll call it even. Then you can go to the hospital. Don't delay the company's time."
I laughed out loud, despite the searing pain in my hand.
"My finger is literally crushed, and you want me to get down on my knees and apologize to this spoiled brat? In your dreams."
Seeing me defy him, Mr. Miller’s face immediately darkened.
Lily trembled with fear and pulled me back, whispering,
"Chloe, please don't fight them! He's right. We really can't afford to cross Miss Vance. She’s the heiress of the Vance family! The manager is super close with her family. He’ll always take her side..."
I let out a cold chuckle.
"Is that so? What if I told you that I am also Arthur Vance's daughter?"
