The Alpha's Regret I Rejected Him After My Pup Died

Chapter 3

Leaving the Shadowfang packhouse, I returned to the Silvermoon Pack.

My parents were thrilled to see me.

"Emma! What brings you here today?" they greeted me, their faces full of concern.

"Didn't you have a checkup yesterday? How is the pup?"

I couldn't hold it in any longer. Tears streamed down my face.

"The pup is gone. And I'm going to reject Liam."

My parents knew nothing about Liam and Chloe.

Back then, I was consumed by pain, hesitation, and anger, but I couldn't bring myself to make a final decision.

I suffered in silence, keeping it from them.

Hearing my words, my parents fell silent.

My mother's eyes turned red as she pulled me into her arms.

"What happened? Are you hurt?"

I cried harder.

I told them everything about Liam and Chloe.

Silvermoon and Shadowfang had a strong alliance.

If I rejected him, we would have to sever all ties.

My father slammed his fist onto the table.

"Fine! Emma, your mother and I are getting old. We don't have grand ambitions anymore."

"If we break the alliance, so be it! Our pack doesn't need them to survive. You don't have to suffer for anyone!"

Hearing my father's words, my tears fell even faster.

I stayed at the Silvermoon Packhouse.

Liam kept sending messages, but I never replied.

I just wanted to heal my body in peace before dealing with the rejection.

But one day, my father came home, furious.

"That bastard Liam is a complete piece of work!"

From my father, I learned that Liam had started targeting and pressuring the Silvermoon Pack's businesses!

I couldn't take it anymore. I marched out, determined to confront Liam.

How did he have the nerve?

When I returned to the Shadowfang packhouse, I saw another person there—Chloe, the one who was supposed to have left!

Seeing me, Liam’s face instantly darkened.

Chloe shrank back, hiding behind him.

Liam’s expression turned even colder.

"Emma, you actually have the nerve to show your face here?"

I glared at him.

"Liam, why wouldn't I? You brought your Omega mistress right into our home. How dare you talk about nerve? Even if we aren't mates anymore, you have no right to target Silvermoon!"

Liam’s eyes narrowed.

"Emma, this is a warning and a punishment! How could you target Chloe? She was already leaving!"

I stared at him, bewildered.

"Target her? Liam, I wouldn't dirty my hands!"

Liam raised his voice.

"If not you, then who? You hired thugs to kidnap and assault her! Do you know what would have happened if I hadn't gotten there in time? Chloe would have been ruined!"

He looked at me with cold mockery.

"You once said you wanted to destroy her."

Yes, back when I loved him to madness, I had vowed to make Chloe's life hell.

But not anymore.

I looked at Chloe.

She was sobbing softly behind Liam, but her eyes held a smug, mocking look.

I got it. Chloe never intended to leave.

She was just playing victim.

The "kidnapping" and "assault" were nothing but a cheap drama she staged.

And Liam fell for it hook, line, and sinker.

Chloe gently tugged on Liam’s sleeve.

"Liam, please don't fight with Emma because of me."

"I'm fine. It's my fault. I stayed too close to you, which is why Emma got mad."

"Don't worry, I'll leave."

Liam immediately cut her off.

"Chloe, don't be afraid!"

"I won't let you leave! What if an Omega like you gets targeted again out there?"

After comforting Chloe, Liam turned to me.

"Emma, Chloe is staying in the packhouse, but she won't cross your path."

"Consider this compensation for what you did to her."

"Drop your little schemes. I told you, you will always be the Luna of Shadowfang Pack."

His voice softened slightly.

"I won't hold this against you."

"I know you did this because you care about me."

"The alliance between Shadowfang and Silvermoon will stand. I will smooth things over at the Alliance Gathering."

"We're about to be parents soon. Let's be good, okay? Stop fighting."

I found it hilarious.

He didn't even know the pup was gone.

It died the moment he chose Chloe over me again.

I didn't want to argue with him.

Since he wanted to play dirty, I wouldn't hold back.

I stared deeply into Liam’s eyes, smiled, and nodded.

This time, I was going to give him a grand surprise.
